Albrecht Fritzsche

Albrecht Fritzsche is a senior research fellow at the institute of information systems of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. He holds a doctoral degree in philosophy from TU Darmstadt and another one in industrial management from Hohenheim University, Stuttgart. He can look back at fifteen years of experience as a systems specialist and strategy consultant in the manufacturing industry, where he worked on numerous different assignments in Germany, China and other countries. At the same time, he was involved in various interdisciplinary research activities which are reflected in his two dissertations on the suppression of indeterminacy in technical operation and the management of heuristic search procedures.

Dr. Fritzsche teaches courses in the field of innovation strategy, foresight and technology management. His current research focusses on organizational challenges in the context of the digital transformation. In particular, he is interested in the theoretical foundations of interactive value creation and service design. Dr. Fritzsche manages various research projects in collaboration with industry on such diverse topics as cybersecurity, cyber-physical production systems, open innovation, and service engineering. He is also responsible for the doctoral program of the institute of information systems.

Dr. Fritzsche has been invited as guest lecturer to various different academic institutions such as IEDC Bled School of Management and Feng Chia University Taichung. He is a member of the Academy of Management (AoM), the European Academy of Management (EURAM), the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and the Society for Philosophy and Technology (SPT). He publishes regularly in various different outlets in the fields of management, information systems, engineering and philosophy.
